CASE STUDY & SUCCESS STORIES
Name: Bineeta
Age: 36
Gender: Female
BMI: 30.5 kg/m2
Case History:Bineeta, a housewife approached us for healthy weight loss post the birth of her 2nd child. She had post-partum cravings and used to snack through the day which did not let her lose the pregnancy weight. She had a history of PCOS which showed up again post deliveryand therefore had irregular periods which also caused acne breakout on her face.
Analysis by the best clinical nutritionist: Past history, dietary recall and lifestyle choices. Her blood reports showed that she had high insulin resistance, low HDL and high LDL levels which indicated the risk of heart problem. She was suffering from iron deficiency and further had high hs-CRP score which depicted that she was suffering from high inflammation, which did not help her with weight loss despite making a various serious attempt by herself.
Approach by best weight loss nutritionist / dietician: We analysed her food diary and saw that her diet was completely lacking protein, complex carbohydrates and essential vitamins and minerals. She was starting her day with dishes in her breakfast that are quick digesting such as idly, poha, upma.without balancing with other food groups. This heavy refined carb meal at the start of the day, caused lethargy immediately after the meal, caused insulin spikes which, also increased her hunger pangs. As her daily diet was loaded with refined grains, it further worsened her insulin resistance condition and aggravated her inflammationand did not allow her body to absorb nutrients such as iron even though she thought she was having sufficient portion of iron in a day like dates and green leafy vegetables. We educated her regarding meal timings, balanced diet and correct food portions. We introduced wholesome foods, protein like eggs, fish, mutton, tofu etc. in such a way that she was able to eat it properly without any issues and we avoided giving her complicated recipes. We ensured that she consumed a diversity of vegetables every day and helped her with execution methods that would make it convenient for her to prepare her meals as she was a strong follower of traditional foods and she is a mother with 2 children. We further included essential fats in her diet which help in absorption of nutrients in the body and boosts immunity. We customized her meal plan according to her travel schedules and social occasions.
Results: After following the program consistently, she was able to see a lot more improvement in her energy levels. He was able to lose around 10 kgs of weight despite travel and indulging in social occasions. Her menstrual cycle became regular since she started the program. The acne breakouts reduced and in 2 months there were no fresh break outs. Her overall health parameters also improved. Further, her craving and need to snack reduced completely. which, improved her acne. She would get slight sweet cravings before her menstrual cycle for which, we gave her healthy sugar alternates, that made her completely satiated.
